College Admission

Look at this chart.  Last year Harvard University received about 39,000 applications and only admitted 2,000 students.  UCLA received 59,000 applications last year!  That's a staggering number!

You can see that it doesn't matter whether you believe that standardized tests are an accurate measure of a student's ability.  It would be impossible for admissions officials to sift through all those applications and high school transcripts.  Not to mention, all those student essays to read!  A more efficient factor has to be utilized. Enter standardized testing.  Your ACT score can be one of the first things that college admissions officials will consider.  And we all know that first impressions are everything!
